Auto Industry Startups

Recent M&A Activity in the Car Industry

October 31, 2007 · 2 Comments

The Web 2.0 “bubble” has been driven by M&A activity, here are some of the recent acquisitions in the Auto Industry (not manufacturers & not in any order).

I’m sure there are more, all that came to mind. We need more acquisitions in the auto industry to spur more startups.

Er…uh…I don’t believe that ServNet was acquired. The auction where the President of ServNet is based was acquired by ADESA – but not ServNet (nor Auction Pipeline).

Im not directing this to all the brokers , because most of the ones I deal with are pretty straight with me, However their are a few and they know who they are when they read my responce, that get rich quick, They have no idea of the total hours that goes into planning a load, the expense involved in the set up from start (initial contact through the delivery,( fuel, insurance, d.o.t., weather, limited driving times 11 hrs max) Then you try toget the best possible load you can and you find that someone wants to pay you a total of 24 cents a mile, We need to set a minimum and work together, Everyone know that there are machanical issues that are unforseen, the web sites should require and regulate brokerage standards. Anyone with a 60% rating or lower should be suspended from transport sites and that way transporters, could trust to leave with a signature only… ,,Charge x-tra for payment not recieved by the 30-day billing deadline . brokers please be more fair with us transporters we need each other correct?
